Voter Toolkit

The League of Women Voters believes U.S. citizens should participate in the democratic process by voting in elections and staying informed about the issues affecting their communities and the country as a whole.

The U.S. Constitution is based on the premise that the government derives its authority from the people, who elect officials to make decisions on their behalf.  This system only works if citizens stay informed, communicate their needs, and hold officials accountable at the ballot box when their actions fail to reflect the will of the electorate.
