The League of Women Voters of The Villages / Tri-County Florida is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting in Lake, Marion and Sumter counties. We educate the community through Speaker Bureau presentations. We assist citizens with voter registration and Vote by Mail renewals. We give voters the opportunity to learn about the candidates seeking office through forums and voter guides. Additionally, we clarify the implications of proposed amendments to the Florida Constitution, offering objective explanations of both their advantages and disadvantages.

If you wish to financially support our mission, there are two methods available. Since we are a 501(c)3 all contributions are tax deductible.

WRITE A CHECK payable to League of Women Voters of The Villages / Tri-County Florida and mail it to Kathy Porter, 310 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL 32159. If you itemize you taxes, you can deduct this as a charitable contribution.

MAKE A QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTION (QCD) Even if you do not itemize your taxes, if you have an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and have reached the age where you are required to make an annual Required Minimum Distribution, a QCD to our League will reduce your tax burden.
What are Qualified Charitable Distributions?
Every year by December 31, many of us with Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are making Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). To avoid paying taxes on your RMD, you can make a Qualified Charitable Contribution (QCD) by having your financial planner or investment manager directly transfer up to $100,000 of your RMD funds to a non-profit charitable organization.
As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, the League of Women Voters of The Villages / Tri-County Florida can provide the financial information to you or your planner, and you will not pay income taxes on the amount you contribute.
This contribution will not only benefit your League, but will reduce the taxable amount on your 1099-R. Win - Win!
